Dying Dilemma Additional 2026 Part 2

Dying Dilemma Additional 2026 Part 2

A short and sweet blog this week.

Thread Gold Coin

First I remove the Broken Thread from the Coin. I then put the Coin on new Thread

Three Gold Beads

I managed to find another Bead of the same size as the other two. I think these Beads are larger than the Original ones but I don’t think it will be noticed at a distance.

Reattach Coin

With the Long Thread I Sewed the Beads and Coin into place. You wouldn’t have known that they were ever missing.

Dying Dilemma Additional 2026 Part 1

Dying Dilemma Additional 2026 Part 1

I was gifted a Hip Scarf Coin Belt. Unfortunately I Ripped it when taking it off. I need to mend it before using again.

Damaged Hip Scarf

I Damaged the Scarf whilst taking it Off as the Ties were too Short. I will have to deal with that later.

Ripped Off

When I finally got the Scarf undone one of the Gold Coins got Ripped Off.

Missing Gold Coin

Luckily I found the Missing Gold Coin on the Floor.

Need Gold Beads

I am going to need some Gold Beads to Repair the Scarf. I have found 2 but need a third.

Dying Dilemma 2025 Part 16

Dying Dilemma 2025 Part 16

After finishing off adding the Beads and Sewing them on. I came across another problem.

6mm Gold Beads

I was running Low on Beads therefore I went on Bead hunt. Unfortunately the only ones that I could find in Gold were 6mm.

Sorting Beads

Before I can continue I need to see exactly how many Beads of which Size I have.

2 Large Gold Beads

Since I have so many packs I decided to make some that had 2 Large Gold Beads.

3 Gold Beads

After a trip to my friend the lovely Laura she told me that if I put a Large Bead on the Bottom then a smaller one above it will look like a Teardrop at a distance. With this information I began to add 3 Gold Beads all of different sizes.

Back of Belly Dancing Skirt

With all the Beads and Coins Sewn on this is how the Skirt now looks.

Front of Belly Dancing Skirt

Here is the Front of the Belly Dancing Skirt. I am so proud of what it looks like now compared to how it started. Of course it isn’t perfect. I got reminded of this when I wore it and realised I had forgotten to cut off the Tails from the new additions.

Autumn Cape Bag 2022 Part 7

Autumn Cape Bag 2022 Part 7

It should be simple but it is getting rather complicated.

Third Stitch Holder

Unbelievably I still cannot get the Stitches off and have to add a Third Stitch Holder. This is towards the Front End of the Stitches that I need to remove.

I slide the Forward Stitches onto the Third (Gold) Stitch Holder. Then I can pull the Needle and First (Grey) Stitch Holder back and leave half the Stitches on the Second (Blue) Holder. Finally I can slip the Stitches from the Third Holder to the Second.

15 Stitches

If you could follow all that I now have 15 Stitches on the Blue Stitch Holder. That is half the battle done. At this point I Cut the Wool leaving a long Tail.

Lift off Stitches

I now move onto the second part of Stitches at the other side of the Wool Marker. This is going to be much easier. This is because the Stitches will be the right way for Knitting.

I push the Stitch Holder through the 15 Stitches. I then lift them off with a Needle.

30 Stitches

I have now put the Stitches back on to the Blue Stitch Holder. You can see the End of the Tail in between the two lots of 15 Stitches. This makes 30 Stitches in Total.

After doing all that I need a break before I move onto the next part.

Crikey Not Christmas 2022 Part 21 –Ribbon

Crikey Not Christmas 2022 Part 21 –Ribbon

Now I have made the Ribbon I have to add it to the Wreath. I tried this so many times I hope I have got the right photographs.

Pine Cone Central

The most important thing to get right is to have the Pine Cone Central at the Bottom. Otherwise when it comes to hanging it will be lopsided.

Add Gold Ribbon

This Ribbon isn’t actually Gold but with two lots of Red Ribbon it gets complicated. Therefore I am referring to the Red Ribbon with a Gold Trim simply as Gold.

Apologies that it isn’t easy to see but then it wasn’t easy to take a photo of either. To hold the Ribbon in place I believe that I put a few Tacking Stitches in. I may have used a spot of Glue too but frankly cannot remember.

Add Glue to Wreath

This was far easier to do than to try and explain. This is because it needs accurate Positioning. I place the Bow where I want it. Then I Wrapped the Ribbon around and checked where it met.

Then I added some Glue to that part of the Wreath.  Then I Stuck the Bow in place. I also added some Glue to the Top of the Wreath to make sure the Ribbon didn’t move.

Glue Back Ribbon

Next I Wrapped the Ribbon around the Back. However I didn’t Glue straight away. I brought the Ribbon back to the Front so I could check that it overlapped. Then I added the Glue and Stuck the Ribbon down at the Back.

Add Bow Glue

This is quite time consuming as I have to wait for the Glue to dry. With the Ribbon now Glued securely at the Top and Back I can move on to the next part. This was to add Glue to the Top of the Bow and part of the Ribbon leading from it.

Wrap Ribbon Around

The photographs might be slightly out of order. This because I am trying to show you the best way to do this. I then began to

Line up the Ribbon from Below. I added some Glue then Wrapped the Ribbon around the Wreath and the Bow.

Clay-time Playtime 2021 Part 4

 Clay-time Playtime 2021 Part 4

Now the pot is made the fun bit can start.

Varnish Outside

I wanted to colour the pot but as I was intending it for the Bathroom I didn’t think watercolours would be a good idea in all the steam. Then I hit upon the idea of using Nail Varnish.

I had lots of half used Varnish so I found a nice Sand Coloured Yellow and began to Varnish the Outside

Dish Base

The Outside Varnish needed to dry so I turned it upside down. In doing so I realised that I would need to Varnish the Base of the Dish as well.

Bottom Varnish

I wasn’t sure which Varnish to use as I need the Yellow for a Second Coat on the Outside Edge. I decided to use a Clear Varnish as a kind of Undercoat.

Purple Swirl

After sorting through the various Bottles of Varnish I selected a Purple Shade and carefully Varnished a Thick Purple Swirl on the Base.

I had to wait for this to dry before doing a Second Coat so I very carefully added another Coat of Yellow to the Outside Edge.

Pink Bands

I wanted to add more detail to the Swirl so I picked a Pinkie-Gold Varnish and began to apply. I wanted to start small then make Thicker Bands. Unfortunately this proved more difficult than I anticipated.

In the end I had to keep do some Bands then and more Purple to try and even out the lines. Sometimes I added too much so then I had to wait for it to dry and then add more Pink.

Gold Edge

To add a nice Edge I selected a Gold Varnish and Coloured in between the Swirls. It was hard work but I am very pleased with the result.

La Costumière 2020 Part 3

 La Costumière 2020 Part 3

This is the final Part of La Costumière.

Glue Interior

I like to keep my finished projects as tidy as possible. Therefore I am Gluing Ribbon over messy areas. I started by doing the Interior.

Glue Half

The Exterior was more difficult to add Ribbon to as it had to Fold over a Corner. I decided therefore to Glue it in two sections. First I Glued the Ribbon upright then once it was dry I Glued the second Half and weighted it so it wouldn’t flip upright again.

Glitter Up

Once the Ribbon was dry I added a touch of Sparkle with some Gold Glitter.

Double Glitter

I then proceeded to Glitter the other Ribbons. I decided on Gold as it matched the Edge of the Ribbon.

In Case

Here is the Box in my Bookcase to show how it will look. Now all it needs is wrapping ready for Christmas.

Another Evening - Another Mask 2020 Part 4

Another Evening - Another Mask 2020 Part 4

Time to Accessorise.

Equipment for Threading

To make the Accessories I needed a Needle, Gold Thread, Oval and a Sequin.

Double Thread

I Doubled the Thread and Pulled through the Hole Hanger.

Pull Through

I Pulled the Tail through Loop.

Looped

Once through I Pulled the Thread Tight.

Pull Through Sequin

Next I Threaded the Needle through the Sequin

Top Hole

I then passed the Needle through the Smaller Hole at the Top which was directly underneath the first one. This wasn’t as easy as it sounded.

I had to hold the Sequin whilst Pulling the Thread because when I didn’t it shot up to the Top.

Bottom Hole

After doing the Top I did the same process (including the holding) with the Bottom.

Secure Front

I originally wanted to Thread through on the Left and Right. However when I tried I found that those Holes were merely decorative.

Therefore I Pulled through the Holes next to the Bottom instead.

Secure Back

Once I had Pulled the Thread through a couple of times I Secured it at the Back.

Gurkha Night

I made three of the items and slipped onto a cord and the others onto Earring Hooks.

Duchess

Here I am with Accessories and Mask. That is the Another Night – Another Mask Completed.

Another Evening - Another Mask 2020

Another Evening - Another Mask 2020

One Evening Mask is not enough so here is another one.

Pin Original Mask

I am using the Original Evening Mask as a Template. I Cut around it giving it extra room for Hemming.

Hem Evening Mask

I Hem the Mask. It seems larger than I thought. I may have to reduce it later.

Ribbon Added

I Fold a Ribbon over the Edge of the Mask and Sew to make the Straps.

Pin and Reduce

As I mentioned previously I thought the Mask looked a little large. When I tried it on it drowned me. Therefore I decided to Fold the Top of the Mask over on itself to Reduce it. I then simply Sewed across.

Pin in Place

I could now start adding the Embellishments. These are the Ovals that Beads from the last Mask came from. I started Pinning in place. I wanted to make sure they were evenly spaced.

Gold Oval Sewn

After I Pinned the first three Gold Ovals I Sewed them in place. I then added some more to the Ends.
