This blog is a bit of a bust. Most of my photographs seemed to have either disappeared or great quality. So apologies but I have done my best with what is left.

Securing

 

The problem with changing colours so often is that it can leave loose Stitches. This will become a major problem once I have started using it and the Weight will naturally drag it Downwards.

I have begun the process of going over these areas. In the above photograph you can see where I have gone along the edge of the Orange to Secure it.

Blurry Blue

 

This was a very difficult photograph to take. I wanted to show how the Holes are so much bigger where I picked up Stitches. I have held the Knitting up in front of my computer screen. Therefore the Blue of the screen can easily be seen through the Larger Holes.

Brown Blur

 

Another difficult photograph to take. Once again I am holding it up against the screen. Now I have gone through with the Brown Wool the difference is much Smaller.

Red Top

 

There are many Straight Edges that you do not find in Nature that I need to tackle. Here I am Changing the Shape and also I fixing Holes at the same time.

Leaves and Orange

 

I have added 3 Leaves to the Second Strap. However there was a bit of a gap so I have embroidered some Orange in it. Much more to do so need to carry on.

Nearly there.

Sew through 3 Layers

I needed to attach the Head to the Body now it was in place. I decided to do the Bottom half first. I am using a Blanket Stitch as usual.

First of all I place the Body and Head on it’s Side. In order to make it secure I am passing the Needle through the Bottom Flap then through the Body and then Top Flap. I do this as far as I can on both Sides

Sew Head Flap

 

I then continue in Blanket Stitch Sewing the Bottom Flap to the Body. This joins the two Sides and now the whole of the Bottom Flap is Sewn and the Body cannot move.

Measure Velcro

To make sure I place the Ears in the correct position I have to have to add the legs. This will make it sit properly. Unfortunately I have lost the other half of my Velcro. Therefore I had to measure the half that I had already Sewn and cut two new pieces. Then I sewed the pieces to the Body.

Pin Ears

I move the Ears into different positions until I am satisfied. I then Pin both Ears in place to double check.

Pin Ear

The Pin is holding the Ear in place whilst I make a start. I keep switching between Sewing the Front of the Ear and the Back of the Ear.

This is because the Pin is only holding the Ear very loosely. After initially Sewing the Front and Back of the Ear to the Body I remove the Pin. I now can Sew the Ear more securely.

Sewn Ear

I have now Sewn one Ear in place. Then Sew the Front of the Head Flap to the Body as Far as the Ear. I then Sew the other Ear in place and do the same.

Two Bunny Ears

After Sewing the two Ears in place and the Front Flap to them I can continue across and Sew the rest of the Flap to the Body.

Easter Bunny

The final part is to add the Eyes. I have bought some Googly Eyes and I Glue them in place. I normally wipe down any gift I give however with the Corona Virus this time I am using Anti-Bacterial Wipes.

This is the final part of making the Top

Straps Shortened on Back

 

Now that the Hook and Eyes were on the material I could see exactly how much length I needed on the Straps to go around the Marionette.

I did not cut the Straps I merely Folded them to the right length and sewed them in place.

Front Blue Ribbon

It was time to jazz up the Front of the Top a little. I did this by adding a shiny Ribbon around the Stripes. This of course had the added benefit of hiding the rough stitching.

Front Daytime

To finish the Front piece entirely I added a textured edging in Navy Blue. I then drew around it so I would have a Template for another outfit.

Party Time Back Piece

Now what could be better for a Party than a bit of sparkle and bling? I added Silver Ribbon and at the Neck I glued a Gem. I again took measurements for future reference.

Voila! Tres Chic.
