Knitting Doll 2024 Part 2

Knitting Doll 2024 Part 2

This is going to be a difficult Blog to write as it is done from the perspective of looking at the Top of the Doll. Try and bear with me. I seriously advise looking at each individual Photograph.

Round Hoop 1

This is the easy bit. First make sure that the Yarn is still out the Bottom of the Doll. It must never be allowed to rise back through so it is advisable to hold it.

Make sure the Dolls Face is towards you. This helps to save getting lost further on. Next take the Yarn from the Top. Wind the Yarn from Left to Right

Round Hoop 2

In order to make life easier for myself I am turning the Doll. The Face now is to my Right. Wind the Yarn around Hoop 2as you did for the First.

Round Hoop 3

Again I have Rotated the Doll. Its is now 180 degrees from where I started. Repeat the Winding process. You should now be able to see Loops forming at the Top.

Round Hoop 4

Unfortunately this Photograph did not come out but the process is the same.

Back to Start

After winding the Yarn around Hoop 4 turn the Doll again and you should be Back to the Start with the Doll smiling at you.

Crikey Not Christmas 2022 Part 16

Crikey Not Christmas 2022 Part 16

Back to the Holly.

Holly with Tails

I had left the Tails on the Tops of the Holly as I thought that I might need them to Sew to the Wreath. I decided that I was not going to do that.

Wind around Stalk

I decide the best thing is to Wind the Tails around the Stalk.

All Tucked in

I now have Sewn all the Holly Tails in so they are Tucked in neatly. However this has slightly rounded the Tops so I had to stretch the Wool a little to make them pointed again.

Match Thread

Since my efforts to make a suitable Pom-Pom had ended in disaster I bought some Red Buttons to use as Berries. I had no Matching cotton Thread so I had to delve into my Silks.

Leave Tail

I Sewed one Button in Place near the Bottom of the Holly Leaf. I left a Tail in case I need to use it to Sew on to the Wreath.

Double Berry

I like the way the Button looked so added the next one. It didn’t matter if the Buttons overlapped slightly. This is what happens naturally with Berries.

Triple Holly

I have now added the Buttons to all 3 Holly Leaf Pairs. I think the Triple Holly has come out smashing. They are certainly much better than with the Pom-Poms.

Crikey Not Christmas 2022 Part 5

Crikey Not Christmas 2022 Part 5

Okay I think I have found a Solution.

Scrap Green

In order to get around this particular problem I am going to Cut the Ribbed Material into 2 pieces. I am then going to fill the middle with Scraps.

Once the Scraps are Dry I shall place the 2 good pieces of Ribbed Wool at Either End. Hopefully this should make the whole thing look like it is an uninterrupted flow.

Cover Back

Having finished with the Front I turn my attention to the Back. With the adjustments I have had to make I am going to have to add more Scraps. This will be to the Back and Inner Ring.

Front Completed

The Front has come out well. Unfortunately it isn’t just this part that will be seen when Hung.

Wind Tight

I have found some Green Wool to Wind Tight around the Ring. Not only does this help keep all the Straggly bits in place but also gives a nice Decoration

It has also given me an idea.
