Autumn Cape Bag 2022 Part 17

Autumn Cape Bag 2022 Part 17

Finally something a bit different.

Tails Tangle

Before I can start on the next section I need to Sew in all the Tails from the Strap before they get into a Tangle

Start Embroidery

If you remember when picking up the Stitches I created Holes along the line. I need to rectify this. I am going to do this by Embroidering. In addition to covering the Holes I need to add to the Leaves. In Nature you do not get Square Leaves.

Add Oak Leaf

I have done some Embroidery with Orange and Yellow Wool. However it is not suitable for very large Patches. Therefore I have Knitted and Sewn in place a small Oak Leaf

This is something I had done before on the Autumn Cape. Although I have the Pattern I no longer have where I got it from. If you are desperate for it I should have it mentioned in my Autumn Cape blogs.

 Cluster of Leaves

I have now added several small Oak Leaves in a Cluster. I cannot go too far up the Strap as it has yet to have the Backing Sewn on it.

Vhere there is a Vill there is a Vay! 2019 Part 2

Vhere there is a Vill there is a Vay! 2019 Part 2

Now the piece is actually beginning to look like knitting.

Grey 8.5 Inches

Since I have slightly altered the pattern I thought it would be a good idea to have a record of what I was doing. This is roughly 8.5 Inches.

Starting the Tyres

After I have used one whole Ball of Grey Yarn I started on the Tyres with the Black Yarn.

Adding the White

Once the Tyres were finished I could start on the Van’s Bumper.

All of a Tangle

The problem with adding all these Balls of Yarn is they have a tendency to knit themselves into a Tangle.

Tangle Tidied

Before I carried on I thought I better have a tidy up. I untangled the Grey and White Yarn; cut off the Black Yarn and sewed in the ends.

Long Gap

The Bumper didn’t take long to do so I started adding the Red Yarn. There was a bit of a Long Gap between two parts I needed to do.

Threading Through

Rather than adding another Ball or leaving a long Loop I decided to Thread the Yarn through the back of the Stitches.

Wrong Colour

Darn it! I have made a mistake. I have accidentally used the same Grey for the Headlights as I have for the Background.
