Carnival Calamity 2025 Part 2

Carnival Calamity 2025 Part 2

I have to confess that it has been quite a while since I took the photos and think that some went astray so bare with me.

Start Trimming

I do not need the Full Grid so I start Trimming to get rid of the Excess Rows

Seven by Six

Rather that looking this up I am doing this project from Memory. I am therefore not quite sure how many Square that I need. So far it is Seven by Six. I will definitely have to check before I cut any more off.

Fold Through Centre

I have Folded the Felt through the Centre Point.

Diagonal Snips

Taking a Pair of Scissors I make some Diagonal Snips along the Fold. This forms a Triagonal. Some are bigger that others but I am not overly worried as I will even them up once I open it back out.

First lot of Holes

I now have my First lot of Holes. These are Diamond Shape. Once I have repeated the process with all the other sections I will Trim them to make them Circular.

Calamity

I love my boyfriend dearly but at this moment I could strangle him. He distracted me at a vital point. This means instead of the Holes being cut in the Centre of the Squares I have actually done it across the the Line.

I am so angry I could spit. The problem is that not only have I messed up the Top but also the Bottom Felt as they are Pinned together. This is one instance when doubling up has worked against me.

No matter which way I look at it this time there is no clever way to cover up the mistake. What was going to be the Board Game Connect Four has now become Connect Calamity. I am going to have to completely rethink this.

Autumn Cape Bag 2022 Part 57

Autumn Cape Bag 2022 Part 57

Now I have Picked Up all the Stitches I can begin Knitting.

First Row

Knitting the First Row was difficult as the Stitches were very Tight. I found that sometimes I had to Tug to get the Needle through.

Loose Yarn

All that Tugging has loosened some of the Yarn that was Sewn in. If I do not sort this, first it is possible that it will Unravel.

Colour Rat

As I am Knitting, I am Colouring in the Rows on my Rat Chart. It does not really matter what Colour I use as long as I can see what I have already done.

Rat Bottom

In the above photograph, you can see how the Knitting Compares to the Bottom of the Rat Chart. In addition, if you look carefully you will observe a curious Fan Shape where I Picked Up. This is a problem I will have to sort out later.

Green Cut Out

After Checking my Knitting against the Chart, I have decided that as it stands the Pocket will be too High. Therefore, I am Cutting Out some Rows. I have highlighted this in Green.

Autumn Cape – A Long Term Project 2021 Filling Time

Autumn Cape – A Long Term Project 2021 Filling Time

Would you credit it? I have had the Leaves I Knitted under my nose for months and now when I want to use them they have gone walkabout.

Gap Fox Side

Since I cannot do what I planned until I find the Leaves or make some more I am reduced to doing a spot of Maintenance.

As you can see in the above photograph there is a Gap at the Top where I have added extra Rows.

Fox Side Sewn

I proceeded to Blanket Stitch the Two Parts Together.

Gap Badger Side

I have the same problem on the Badger Side.

Badger Side Sewn

This was easier to Sew as I had left a long Tail when I Knitted whereas on the Fox I had to find the Wool to Match.

Top Rim Tidied.

Finally I Sewed the Top Rim to make it Tidy.
