Face Mask 2020 Part 4

Face Mask 2020 Part 4

Definitely a blog that shows that ‘More Haste, Less Speed’.

Fold Back

Finally got some Elastic so time to make an Elasticated Mask. Curve one End of the Elastic under itself and Sew.

Measure

Next Measure the amount of Elastic needed (I put it around my ear then marked with a Pin) then repeat making sure the Elastic has not twisted.

Fold and Pin

I still had too much Elastic. I had Folded it back again on itself but it was still too loose. I therefore cut some off and redid it but it still hung down my Face rather than across. I was getting fed up not to mention sore fingers. Therefore I decided to fold back the material rather than the Elastic.

Merman

Needless to say that this was not the look I was going for. Unless you are planning on making a Merman or some kind of Alien Mask don’t do this.

Not Quite Right

This is getting silly. I have already made a few Elastic Masks for my mother albeit slightly slimmer ones. I had no trouble with them so why am I having problems now?

Uneven Material

First problem I found when I put the Elastic together was I spotted that the material was uneven.

Back to the Drawing Board

Therefore I had to start back at the beginning with a new Hem. This time I Measured and Pinned all the way across. I then reattached the Elastic
