Mademoiselle Marionette Summer Apparel 2019 Part 4

Mademoiselle Marionette Summer Apparel 2019 Part 4

Although this is a relatively easy item to make in theory I somehow managed to make a muck of it. Since it is difficult even for me to remember what happened I have decided to split this into several parts.

Pair of Hemmed Blue Circles

What I am making is a Handbag. Or rather I am making two Handbags. First of all I took one of the Two Hemmed Blue Circles I had left.

Fold Circle in Half

I made sure that the Zig-Zag pattern was not at an angle then I Folded the Circle in Half and pressed it along the straight edge.

Middle Crease

This when Unfolded left a Crease down the Middle of the Material. This Fold indicates where the Bottom of the Bag is going to be.

Fold and Pin

Next I Folded the Side and Pinned it.

Pin at Top

I mimicked the Fold on the opposite Side and Pinned both at where the Top would be.

Sew at Top

I then started to Sew at the Top and Stitched my way along the Sides.

Unpick Sides

I am not exactly sure what happened. Instead of being nice and neat I had bulges. One Side seemed fine but the other had managed to be twice as thick as the other.

I can only conclude that it must have been a mixture of slippage and that the fact that the Circles are not exactly symmetrical. Therefore I was forced to Unpick both Sides and start again.
