Corona Virus Challenge April 2020

Corona Virus Challenge April 2020

Hello Everyone. I hope you are all keeping safe. Since most countries have some sort of movement restriction in place this week I thought that I would take a break from my usual craft blog. Instead I am going to work on my other Craft – Writing.
Inspired by a BBC video that changed the lyrics to one of Victoria Wood’s songs I have done something similar. So with a break from the norm I hear by Challenge anybody that is going up the wall to select a tune, change the lyrics and then add to this blog so everybody can see.

I look forward to singing all your efforts
On the 1st Week of Crisis (to the tune of ‘On the 1st Day of Christmas’).

Adapted By Jane Burton

On the 1st Week of Crisis my Government said to me
It’s not in our Country.

On the 2nd Week of Crisis my Government said to me
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 3rd Week of Crisis my Government said to me
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 4th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 5th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
We’re not in Europe
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 6th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
We are an Island
We’re not in Europe
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 7th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
No need to Panic
We are an Island
We’re not in Europe
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 8th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
Reports aren’t Correct
No need to Panic
We are an Island
We’re not in Europe
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 9th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
Cabinet is Convening
Reports aren’t Correct
No need to Panic
We are an Island
We’re not in Europe
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 10th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
We will look Again
Cabinet is Convening
Reports aren’t Correct
No need to Panic
We are an Island
We’re not in Europe
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 11th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
Maybe there’s Problems
We will look Again
Cabinet is Convening
Reports aren’t Correct
No need to Panic
We are an Island
We’re not in Europe
Do not be Scared
Do not Fret
It is like Flu
And it’s not in our Country

On the 12th Week of Crisis my Government said to me
We are Astounded
NHS is Cracking
Increase Police Powers
Recall all Nurses
People are now Dying
Mis-information
More Social Distance
Please wash your Hands
Please do not visit
Do not Hoard
It’s not like Flu
And it’ is in our Country

Always something to learn.

The more I learn, the more I learn how little I know. -- Socrates

The more you know, the less you understand. -- Lao-Tzu

A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

These little bits of sayings have come to mind as I have been doing quite a bit of learning lately and not all of it pleasant. I won't dwell on that part as I have just had some good news.

I have always prided myself that language was one of my stronger points especially since people apparently seem to like to read what I write. I must admit though than since I have used the Internet my spelling and grammar has drastically gone down hill. Indeed I wrote a Blog on that some time ago.

I also have a thirst for knowledge and love to learn new things and at one time I joked that I was a professional student. However due to health problems not to mention a shortage of spondulix I have had a break from studying. A short while ago I spotted an offer for a writing course. Since I need my writing and editing skills brushing up I thought I would sign up.

I am already learning great new stuff and relearning old stuff. After spending lots of time reading the sections of the module and a hell of a deal of note taking (Aargh I almost forgot how much writing with a pen can hurt if you over do it my poor wrist and puddies.) I am pleased to say I have passed the first part and can now move on to the second. Sorry this is such a short blog but I am seriously beginning to lose feeling in my right hand. Well that is apart from the bits that hurt.
